Hum Network, Punjab police to jointly launch awareness campaign on traffic laws

LAHORE: Hum Network and Punjab police have joined forces to launch an extensive awareness campaign on road safety and traffic rules across various cities in Punjab, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) on collaboration was formally signed by Hum Network CEO Duraid Qureshi and Punjab Police Inspector General Dr Usman Anwar at the Central Police Office.
The campaign aims to intensify efforts to discourage driving without a licence, underage driving, promote helmet usage for motorcyclists, and encourage overall safe road practices.
This comprehensive initiative will span across Punjab, covering cities including Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Sialkot.

Under the MoU, a series of advertisements will be broadcasted, addressing issues like driving without a licence, underage driving, road safety guidelines, lane discipline, and over-speeding.
Hum Network and Punjab police plan to amplify this special campaign through dedicated TV programmes focused on road safety and traffic rules.
A large-scale awareness campaigns on social media channels affiliated with Hum Network will target the younger demographic.
Hum Network and Punjab police will collaborate to establish a “digital school of road safety”.
Punjab Police IG Dr Usman Anwar stated that this agreement is a welcome step towards enhancing measures for ensuring safe highway use, promoting responsible driving, and preventing accidents.
The signing ceremony was attended by Hum Network’s Duraid Qureshi, Director of Hum News, Head of Corporate Communications Hassan Akbar, Assistant Vice President Kashif Sethi, and Bureau Chief Shehraz Hassanat.
Additionally, notable attendees from law enforcement and security agencies included MD Safe City Authority Ahsan Younus, DIG Athar Waheed, CTO Lahore Ammara Akhtar, Chief Operating Officer Safe City Mustasn Feroz, SSP Investigation Dr. Anoosh Masud, and ASP Gulberg Syeda Shehrebano.
