ISLAMABAD: The Hum Investigation Team has obtained details of the assets of the wealthiest candidate in the current election from Sindh.

The revealed assets of Pakistan People’s Party candidate Sher Muhammad Mugheri from PS-1 Jacobabad reportedly exceed a staggering Rs5 billion.

Sher Muhammad Mugheri, who is contesting the election on the PPP ticket, boasts assets exceeding Rs4 billion abroad and an additional Rs1 billion within Pakistan.

The extensive list of assets includes numerous commercial plots, high-end cars, and luxurious residences across Karachi, Islamabad, and Jacobabad. Notably, Mugheri also possesses business enterprises, apartments, and shops in the United Arab Emirates.

Sher Muhammad Mugheri’s name was previously placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) in connection to the fake accounts case, with both the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Joint Investigation Team (JIT) investigating his involvement.

Furthermore, Mugheri is said to have received 36 contracts amounting to Rs4.82 billion in the Sindh irrigation department. He faced allegations of transferring Rs146 million to a fake account through 53 transactions.

Family sources assert that these allegations are baseless, emphasizing that the case is currently under trial in the court.

Despite the scrutiny, Sher Muhammad Mugheri’s nomination papers have been approved. Efforts to obtain Mugheri’s response on the matter are under way, and Hum Investigation Team awaits his perspective on the matter.
