China unveils comprehensive plan to uplift millions

BEIJING: Over the past year, China has embarked on significant initiatives aimed at tackling unemployment and uplifting millions out of poverty.
According to China’s Minister of Human Resources and Social Security, Wang Xiaoping, approximately 33 million new job opportunities have been created, and high-demand sectors such as artificial intelligence, big data, healthcare, housing, cultural tourism will be given more attention this year.
Speaking at a press conference, Wang Xiaoping emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing rising unemployment by implementing crucial measures and prioritizing job creation, especially for young people. He underscored the importance of fostering skills in emerging fields like artificial intelligence and big data, while also focusing on vital areas such as respiratory healthcare, housing, and cultural tourism.
In addition to job creation efforts, China remains dedicated to enhancing its education system. Education Minister Huai Jinpeng highlighted plans to elevate basic education standards and ensure equitable distribution of educational resources between urban and rural regions. Measures are being taken to upgrade schools in both rural and urban areas, aiming to improve overall educational quality.
Meanwhile, Minister of Housing and Urban Rural Development, Nie Hong, outlined measures to bolster housing facilities for Chinese citizens, including favorable conditions, low interest rates, tax relief, and fee reductions. Emphasizing the importance of home renovation and rehabilitation, Nie Hong noted the vast potential for growth in China’s property market and stressed the need for targeted housing policies.
Aligning with President Xi Jinping’s vision, efforts will focus on constructing affordable housing and promoting affordable leasing options to enhance living standards and affordability for all Chinese citizens.
