Man dead in quarrel over watermelon price

Young man loses life amid a quarrel over the price of watermelons in Lahore

LAHORE: An unknown assailant opened gunfire at the watermelon vendor in Lahore before escaping on a motorcycle, according to police. 

The footage of the ordeal recorded by a bystander shows the assailant had a mask on to hide his face and suffered from a limp in one leg.

Prior to the shooting, the vendor and a person whose identity remains unknown, got into a heated argument. The situation escalated when an accomplice of the latter arrived and opened fire, police said.

A case had been registered on May 24 following the incident, efforts are being made to identify the assailants, Lahore police said.
