RAWALPINDI: Comparing Sher Afzal Marwat to ‘Porus ka hathi’, the founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said that he (Marwat) is regularly targeting party leaders.

In a recent media interaction at Adiala Jail, Imran Khan expressed both appreciation for Marwat’s contributions and concerns over his recent actions.

Imran Khan commended Sher Afzal Marwat efforts for the party but emphasized the importance of adhering to party policies. He highlighted that Marwat had repeatedly breached party discipline by targeting fellow party members, which, according to Khan, contradicts the ethos of internal party dynamics.

“In a political party, one must work within the confines. Our battles are with external forces, not within our own ranks,” Khan emphasized.

He said if one remains within the party discipline then it is ok but if they continue to violate it then they become ‘porus ka hathi’

Despite Marwat’s contributions, Khan stressed the necessity of adherence to party protocols. “Sher Afzal Marwat has done substantial work for the party. However, consistent violations of party policies cannot be overlooked,” Khan stated firmly.

When questioned about a potential meeting with Sher Afzal Marwat in jail, Khan declined to comment, redirecting the focus to broader issues of party governance and unity.

The PTI had issued a show-cause notice to Sher Afzal Marwat for violating the party’s code of conduct and hurting its interests through his remarks against senior party leaders and Saudi Arabia.

Marwat was ordered to explain himself in writing within three days of the notice as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against him.
