The announcement was made by PTI’s Additional Secretary General Firdous Shamim Naqvi.

The decision was finalised during a core committee meeting, where it was determined that Marwat’s serious breaches of party discipline warranted the termination of his membership.

Marwat, who was elected to the National Assembly on February 8, had his basic party membership revoked following the issuance of a formal notification by PTI Additional General Secretary Firdous Shamim Naqvi.

The party also demanded that Marwat vacate his National Assembly seat.

The expulsion follows the suspension of Marwat’s primary party membership on July 12, a move instructed by PTI founder Imran Khan while he was imprisoned in Adiala Jail.

Khan had delegated authority to the party leadership to address violations of party policy, which led to the formation of an inquiry committee. The committee’s investigation concluded with the decision to expel Marwat.
