ISLAMABAD: Despite road closures in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has confirmed that its flight operations are running smoothly, with all flights departing on time.
Key roads in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been sealed due to the protest announcement of the PTI. Due to the closure of roads, the public is facing many difficulties in reaching to the airport and catching their flights.
However, PIA spokesperson has said that flight operations are running smoothly and has advised passengers heading to Islamabad Airport to leave for the airport earlier than usual to avoid delays caused by Rawalpindi traffic restrictions.

Passengers are encouraged to stay informed about their flight schedules or request changes to bookings by contacting PIA’s call center at 111 786 786, the spokesman said.
PTI founder Imran Khan told reporters earlier this week that the party’s planned September 28 rally in Rawalpindi would be replaced with a protest.
In reaction to the announcement of the PTI protest, the Punjab government has imposed Section 144 of the CrPC in Rawalpindi division for two days banning public gatherings in the city.
Key locations in Rawalpindi, including Fateh Jang Toll Plaza, Kacha Stop, Gulzar-e-Quaid, Shamsabad, Faizabad, IJP Road, Double Road, Katariyan Bridge, Pandora Chowk, and Khanna Pul, have been sealed off.
Similarly, Islamabad has been sealed at T-Chowk, Koral, Khanna, Faizabad, IJP Junction, 26 Number, Golra Mor, B-17, and Margalla Cut on GT Road. These areas will be blocked using a three-tier system of containers, dumpers, loaded trucks, and barbed wire.
