Xiaomi’s EV factory expansion to be completed by mid-2025

WEB DESK: Popular company behind Mi and Redmi smartphones, Xiaomi, is expected to wrap up the expansion work of its electric vehicle factory within seven months.
The second phase of the Xiaomi Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Base is scheduled to be completed on June 15.
According to Chinese media, the workers are putting in extra hours to complete the project on time. The construction area is adjacent to the first phase factory located in Beijing’s Yizhuang New Town, an economic development area in which many high-tech firms have set up shop.
For those unaware, Xiaomi announced entering the electric car business in 2021 as a diversification plan as the tech giant was earlier only known for its gadgets and smartphones.
Xiaomi has not taken too long to become one of the major brands to introduce electric vehicles in China.

Xiaomi sold 7,000 electric cars in the EV market since the launch of its first EV, the SU7, after the deliveries started in March.
