RAWALPINDI: As the smog situation worsens, the Punjab government has decided to experiment with artificial rain in Rawalpindi. Earlier, the same approach had been used to counter the smog impacts on the provincial capital Lahore.
According to media reports, the Punjab government will make the final decision contingent upon the presence of clouds. However, with the plans for artificial rains already in progress, the departments concerned have started to arrive in Rawalpindi.
It is pertinent to mention here that Lahore still continues to be engulfed in smog, with its air quality constantly worsening. Other cities in the province, including Rawalpindi and Multan, as well as the federal capital Islamabad have also started to experience the adverse effects of smog.
