ISLAMABAD: Social media and video streaming platforms are flooded with videos and posts claiming that Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) is planning to reintroduce its iconic mini hatchback, the Suzuki Mehran, which was discontinued in 2019.
Some YouTube videos even showcase a kei car, alleging that this is what the Suzuki Mehran 2025 will look like. Amusingly, some people are believing these AI-generated videos, which depict a kei car with a New Suzuki Mehran nameplate.
Suzuki Mehran 2025 price in Pakistan
Meanwhile, various unverified websites are already speculating about the price of the so-called Mehran 2025, suggesting that it could start from Rs1.2 million for the base variant and go up to Rs1.6 million for the top model. However, the real question is: are these rumours true?
At present, Pak Suzuki Motor Company has not made any official announcement regarding the launch of the Mehran 2025 in Pakistan.
No company official has hinted at its return either. When contacted, a Suzuki official confirmed that the company has not issued any statement regarding the launch of a new Mehran. A car dealer in Islamabad also dismissed the reports as “fake.”
The speculation seems to have gained momentum after Pak Suzuki recently announced the discontinuation of the Suzuki WagonR.
This led to speculation that the company might introduce a new model to replace it. Some people appear to have misinterpreted this as a sign that Suzuki plans to bring back the Mehran, a car that was once a bestseller in Pakistan.
For those unaware, before the current Suzuki Alto became Pakistan’s top-selling car, the Mehran dominated the market for decades and was commonly referred to as “The Boss” due to its massive presence on the country’s roads.
As of now, it remains uncertain whether Suzuki will replace the WagonR with a new model. Even if a new car is introduced, there is no confirmation that it will carry the Mehran name.
