ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, dismissing concerns over brain drain, has called it a “brain gain” .
In his passionate address at the Overseas Pakistanis Convention, the COAS said that those advocating the narrative of a “brain drain” should know it’s not brain drain but instead a brain gain
The event, attended by a large number of overseas Pakistanis, echoed with chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pakistan ka matlab kya” as General Munir lauded the role and contributions of Pakistanis living abroad.
“You are not just ambassadors of Pakistan. You are the light that shines across the world,” the army chief told the audience, expressing confidence in the strength and resilience of overseas Pakistanis.
General Munir tackled key national issues head-on, including terrorism in Balochistan, irresponsible use of social media, and the situation in Kashmir and Gaza.

He also strongly condemned any efforts to create unrest within Pakistan’s security institutions, calling such elements “enemies of the state.”
“No power can harm Pakistan as long as its brave people stand with the armed forces,” he said, adding that terrorists and their generations could never weaken Balochistan or the country.
He termed Balochistan the “jewel of Pakistan’s crown” and emphasised that a state where institutions operate within the constitution is called a “hard state.”
Highlighting national unity, he stressed the need to educate the younger generation about the two-nation theory and Pakistan’s real narrative.
“Kashmir is and will remain Pakistan’s jugular vein,” General Munir said, adding that Pakistanis continue to stand with the people of Gaza.
Calling on overseas Pakistanis to represent the country with pride, he concluded, “We must not lose hope, and we must not be disappointed.”
