QUETTA: The Balochistan board has announced a new date for the postponed annual intermediate exams, while the exams in Mirpurkhas, starting today, have been postponed.
The postponed intermediate exams, under the Balochistan Board, would commence on May 2, according to the board’s spokesman.
The board spokesperson has directed the students to prepare for their exam as per the new schedule.
The exams that were earlier scheduled to be held on April 22, 2025 were suddenly postponed for three weeks due to unavoidable circumstances
However according to sources, the examinations had been delayed following the teachers’ announcement to boycott the exams.
In reaction to the postponement, students criticised the board’s decision, stating that it affected admissions into medical colleges in the following year.
In a separate development, matric examinations were postponed in North Waziristan due to security concerns.
INTERMEDIATE EXAMS IN MIRPURKHAS POSTPONED
The Mirpurkhas Education Board has postponed intermediate exams due to road blockages.
The exams, earlier scheduled for April 28, will now start on May 5, said Controller of Examinations Anwar Aleem Khanzada.
The board promised students that a new timetable would soon be issued to adjust the changes. Authorities said ongoing road closures disrupted transportation for both students and staff.
Background reports from local newspapers revealed that Mirpurkhas Education Board has long been battling financial and administrative problems. Funding shortages have often delayed exams in the past.
The board earlier failed to conduct supplementary exams, leaving many students uncertain about their future.
This latest postponement is likely to cause further delays in results and university admissions. Despite repeated assurances, the board has struggled to manage examinations smoothly, raising fresh concerns among students and teachers.
