KARACHI: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that banks easily provide loans to large businesses, and the previous government gave $300 million dollars to big houses at a 4 per cent interest rate.
“We have to convince the banks to provide loans to the youth as well,” the premier said this while addressing a gathering to distribute laptops among youths in Karachi.
The prime minister remarked that Pakistani youth possess immense talent and their abilities need to be further polished.

“The government will distribute 1 million laptops every year if our party is voted to power.”
He said, “The burden of inflation has already weighed heavily on the poor, and now the elite must also bear their share of the burden.”
Under the youth loan scheme, he said, young people were being provided with loans of up to Rs7.5 million to start businesses. We will have to make them skillful and empower entrepreneurs, he said.
The premier shared that the fear of default kept him awake at night and “we have a month left in our term and only Allah knows who will form the next government.
While referring to the PTI government, he said that the country was being plagued by those who resorted to black magic day and night to destabilise it.
