Changan reduces prices of SUV Oshan X7  by Rs300,000

ISLAMABAD: Following in the footsteps of other major car companies in Pakistan, Changan has also announced the  price reduction of its popular crossover SUV, the ‘Oshan X7 by  Rs 300,000.

However, this reduction is only applicable for a limited period, starting from May 4th until June 15th, 2024.

The Comfort variant of the Changan Oshan X7 will now be priced at Rs. 7,999,000, down from the previous price of Rs. 8,299,000, resulting in a reduction of Rs. 300,000.

Similarly, the price of the Oshan X7 FutureSense has been decreased by Rs. 400,000, bringing the new price to Rs. 8,549,000 from the previous price of Rs. 8,949,000.

Honda, Toyota not interested in reducing prices

It is worth mentioning that this is the fourth price reduction announced within a week, signifying another significant development amidst the ongoing series of price cuts.

Kia initiated a reduction of over Rs. 15 lakh for the Stonic, followed by a reduction of Rs. 4.5 lakh for the Peugeot 2008 and a decrease of Rs. 7.1 lakh for the Suzuki Swift.

However, Honda Atlas and Toyota Motors, the two Japanese vehicle assemblers have opted to stay out of the price war.

CHANGAN TO LAUNCH FIRST EV IN PAKISTAN

Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) is set to introduce its first pure electric vehicle brand in Pakistan, Deepal (S07 SUV and L07 Sedan), in the coming months, according to media reports.

While the company did not confirm or deny this information, a top official, without revealing the model, confirmed that launching an EV is on the cards for the company.

Under the Vast Ocean Plan, Changan, the parent company, has introduced three new EV brands of EVs for distinct customer groups – Avatr, Deepal, and Nevo.
