Gold price increases by Rs200 per tola in local market as global rates climb

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan experienced an increase on Monday, mirroring rises in international rates.
The price of gold per tola rose by Rs200, reaching Rs275,700, while the 10-gramme price increased by Rs171 to settle at Rs236,368, as reported by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
This follows a bigger rise on Saturday, where the per tola price surged by Rs1,600, landing at Rs275,500.
Internationally, gold prices also climbed, with the APGJSA noting a rate of $2,659 per ounce (plus a $20 premium), which marked a $3 increase for the day.
Silver prices remained steady at Rs3,050 per tola.
It’s worth mentioning that last month, gold prices in Pakistan hit a record high of Rs277,000 per tola.
