KARACHI: Gold prices have surged to unprecedented levels in both international and local markets. In the international bullion market, the price of gold per ounce increased by $7, reaching a new global high of $2,682.
In local markets, Thursday saw the price of 24-karat gold per tola rise by Rs700, bringing it to a record high of Rs277,900. The price of gold per 10 grammes also increased by Rs600, reaching an all-time high of Rs238,254.
While gold prices continue to rise, the silver market has remained stable, with no changes reported. The price of silver per tola held steady at Rs3,050, and the price per 10 grammes remained unchanged at Rs2,614.88.
This surge in gold prices marks the highest level ever recorded in Pakistan’s history, prompting potential sellers to consider their options.
With prices hitting a second consecutive record high—up from Rs277,200 per tola just yesterday—those thinking of selling may want to weigh the possibility of further increases before making a decision.
