Gold price surpasses Rs234,000 per tola in Pakistan

WEB DESK: Gold prices in Pakistan experienced a continued surge on Friday, propelled by a record high in the global market for the precious metal.

The price per tola soared to Rs234,800 within the local market, marking a significant gain of Rs3,800 throughout the day.

According to data provided by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price for 10 grammes of gold reached Rs201,303 following an increase of Rs3,258.

Thursday witnessed a notable uptick in gold prices as well, with an increment of Rs1,500 per tola. The international gold rate also reached an all-time high, climbing to $2,254 per ounce with a $40 increase, accompanied by a $20 premium, as reported by APGJSA.

In tandem with the gold surge, silver rates also experienced an upward trend, rising by Rs20 to reach Rs2,600 per tola.
