Gold climbs to new all-time high after Rs800 per tola jump

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan have hit new record highs, making it even more expensive for people to buy.

According to the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of 24-karat gold reached Rs268,500 per tola on Thursday.

This is Rs800 per tola higher than the rate seen on Wednesday.

Additionally, the price of 24-karat gold for 10 grammes increased to Rs230,195, which is Rs685 higher.

Meanwhile, the price of silver stayed the same, with 24-karat silver selling for Rs2,950 per tola and Rs2,529 per 10 grammes.

On the global market, spot gold held steady after a wild session that saw prices reach a record high. This happened after the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by half a percentage point.

Gold last traded at about $2,579 an ounce, up by $20 or 0.78 per cent. The price of 22-karat gold also went up to Rs211,012 per 10 grammes.
