KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan witnessed a downturn on Saturday, mirroring the global trend of decline.

According to the latest figures provided by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola dropped by Rs300, settling at Rs243,500 in the local market.

Similarly, the 10-gramme gold saw a decrease of Rs257, with its price resting at Rs208,762.

This decline follows a notable uptick in gold prices on Friday, where the precious metal recorded a significant increase of Rs4,600 per tola in Pakistan.

Internationally, the price of gold experienced a downward trend on Saturday as well. The APGJSA reported that the international rate was set at $2,359 per ounce with a premium of $20, marking a decrease of $7 during the day.

In contrast, silver prices remained steady at Rs2,650 per tola.

It’s worth noting that just last month, gold prices hit an all-time high of Rs252,200 per tola in the local market, highlighting the volatility of the precious metals market.
