Gold price increases by Rs2,000 per tola

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan saw an upward trend for the fourth straight session on Saturday, mirroring the rise in international gold rates.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola reached Rs246,400, marking a single-day increase of Rs2,000.

Similarly, the price for 10 grammes of gold surged to Rs211,247, reflecting an increase of Rs1,740. This follows a rise of Rs1,100 per tola on Friday, continuing the bullish trend in the local market.

Internationally, gold prices also saw significant gains. On Saturday, gold was priced at $2,388 per ounce, including a $20 premium, after experiencing a $24 increase during the day, as reported by the APGJSA.

In addition to gold, silver prices also rose. The rate for silver per tola climbed by Rs50, reaching Rs2,900.

Notably, in April, gold prices in the local market hit an all-time high of Rs252,200 per tola. This recent surge indicates a strong recovery in the market.
