Gold prices jump Rs1,200 per tola in Pakistan amid global rise

KARACHI: On Wednesday, gold prices in Pakistan saw a notable increase, mirroring the upward trend observed in international markets. The price of gold per tola surged by Rs1,200, reaching Rs253,500 in the local market.

The price for 10 grammes of gold also climbed, now standing at Rs217,335, following a Rs1,029 increase. These figures were reported by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). Earlier in the week, on Monday, gold prices had risen by Rs200 per tola.

Globally, the price of gold also edged higher on Wednesday. According to APGJSA, the international rate reached $2,415 per ounce, including a $20 premium, marking a $27 increase for the day.

In addition, silver prices rose by Rs40, bringing the cost to Rs2,900 per tola.

Earlier this month, gold prices in Pakistan had hit a record high, with the price per tola rising by Rs4,600 to reach Rs254,000.
