WEB DESK: Gold continued its upward trajectory in Pakistan on Monday as the precious metal surged to a new pinnacle in the global market.

Within the country, the price of gold per tola soared to Rs237,600, marking a substantial increase of Rs2,800 over the course of the day.

According to data provided by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10 grammes of gold reached Rs203,704, reflecting a notable rise of Rs2,401 from previous levels.

This surge follows a period of relative stability on Saturday, when gold prices held steady at Rs234,800 per tola.

Over the past seven sessions, gold has seen a significant uptick of Rs9,400 per tola within the local market, underscoring its robust performance in recent days.

Meanwhile, in the international arena, the price of gold reached unprecedented heights on Friday, commanding a premium of $20 and culminating at $2,278 per ounce after a $24 increase, as reported by APGJSA.

In contrast, silver prices remained unchanged at Rs2,600 per tola during this period, maintaining a steady stance amidst the fluctuations in the precious metals market.
