WEB DESK: In a synchronised move with the global uptrend, gold prices in Pakistan witnessed a substantial increase on Wednesday.

The precious metal reached Rs225,400 per tola, marking a noteworthy gain of Rs1,500 within the day.

According to the latest figures released by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the 10-gramme gold price settled at Rs193,244, following an increase of Rs1,286.

This surge comes on the heels of Tuesday’s rise, where gold prices escalated by Rs2,700 per tola.

Internationally, gold displayed its resilience, commanding a premium of $20. The global gold rate on Wednesday stood at $2,148 per ounce, reflecting a $13 increase in the international market, as reported by APGJSA.

In contrast, silver rates held steady at Rs2,600 per tola, maintaining their position amidst the fluctuating trends in the precious metals market.

The surge in gold prices is attributed to the dynamic shifts in the global market, reinforcing the metal’s status as a valuable and responsive commodity.
