Which car can you buy for less than Rs300,000 this winter in Pakistan?

Cheapest Suzuki Mehran price in Pakistan

WEB DESK: Suzuki Mehran has maintained its popularity in Pakistan over the decades, largely due to its reputation for easy maintenance and the widespread availability of spare parts throughout the country’s automotive markets.

Despite being discontinued, Suzuki Mehran frequently appears on online car-selling platforms with price tags soaring up to Rs1.6 million.

Interestingly, in 2023, one can still buy a 90s model Suzuki Mehran, ranging from 1993 to 1998, for less than Rs300,000, contingent on the condition of this iconic car.

Currently, Suzuki Mehran 1998 is listed on online Pakistani car-selling websites for as low as Rs270,000.

The seller of the “Boss” assures potential buyers that the vehicle is free from any engine or body faults, with the only noted imperfections being some touch-ups, and that it is in working condition.

However, the asking prices can be puzzling, as different sellers demand varying amounts for older models.

For example, a 1993 Suzuki Mehran is currently listed on online marketplaces for Rs295,000, which is higher than the 1998 model.

This disparity highlights the subjective nature of pricing and how sellers assess the value of the car.

Individuals in search of a vehicle priced below Rs300,000 often gravitate towards Suzuki Mehran due to its widespread popularity and the ease of finding spare parts, in contrast to other car brands like Daihatsu.

The Daihatsu Charade, another option available at a similarly low price, is somewhat considered less straightforward to maintain.

Interestingly, this price comparison suggests that one can still acquire a Suzuki Mehran from the 90s at a lower cost than a brand-new 125cc motorcycle from popular bike brands in Pakistan.

Years ago, these Mehran models were available for Rs1 lakh in Pakistan, but as all car prices have almost doubled in the past few years, Suzuki Mehran’s older models have also become more expensive.
