ISLAMABAD: The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is no stranger to global fame. It’s boxy, bold, and unapologetically luxurious, a design icon that has stayed true to its roots since its debut in 1979. But in Pakistan, the G-Wagon has only recently started to gain serious traction, with its road presence now turning heads in cities like Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
Once considered a unicorn on Pakistani roads, the G-Class has become more visible over the last three years, largely thanks to wealthy buyers importing these rugged-yet-luxurious SUVs. And with every public sighting comes a flood of social media posts and admiration, because let’s face it, there’s just something about a G-Wagon.
But here’s the real kicker: the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon price in Pakistan is on another level. While the same vehicle retails for around $186,100 (roughly Rs5.2 crore) in the United States, prices in Pakistan are far steeper, often three to four times higher, primarily due to import duties and taxes on luxury vehicles.
Why is the G-Class becoming popular in Pakistan?
Mercedes-Benz vehicles have long held a reputation for status and refinement in Pakistan, with the E-Class, C-Class and S-Class being the more familiar models. But the G-Class, especially the high-performance AMG G63 or the new all-electric G580 EQ, has developed a cult following of its own.
It’s not just the off-road capability or the powerful engine options. The G-Wagon’s appeal lies in its combination of old-school toughness with modern luxury. From celebrities and influencers to car collectors and business tycoons, the G-Class is now the go-to SUV for those wanting to make a statement.
The rise in popularity also aligns with the growing car culture in Pakistan, where spotting a G-Wagon on the road is no longer shocking, though it’s still rare enough to earn a second glance. And with more units being imported privately, it’s no surprise that curiosity about the price is trending across Google.
Mercedes Benz G-Wagon price in Pakistan
The answer might make even seasoned enthusiasts do a double take. The most “affordable” G-Wagon currently listed on local classifieds is a 2024 Mercedes-Benz G580 EQ, with an asking price of Rs11.5 crore. That’s right, Rs11.5 crore for the electric version.
If you’re after something more traditional, like the petrol-powered G63 AMG, brace yourself. A used 2020 model is being sold for around Rs18 crore. To put that into context, that is the price of nearly 20 brand-new 2025 Honda Civic Oriel units or 12 brand-new Toyota Fortuner 2.7 G models in Pakistan.
Even a five-year-old G63 will cost you significantly more than many new luxury sedans.
The pricing variation depends on trim level, model year, and overall condition, but one thing remains consistent: it’s one of the most expensive SUVs you can buy in Pakistan.
Even pricier than the S-Class in Pakistan
It’s worth noting that the G-Wagon’s price tag in Pakistan far exceeds that of Mercedes’ flagship luxury saloon. For example, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 560 e is available for about Rs7.5 crore, and even the performance-focused 2014 S63 AMG sits around Rs9.5 crore. Meanwhile, the all-electric 2022 Mercedes EQS can be had for as low as Rs4 crore.
Still, none of them match the presence, appeal or sheer popularity of the G-Class. Despite being the more expensive choice, it remains the ultimate flex among luxury SUVs in Pakistan.
Renting a G-Wagon in Pakistan? That’s possible too
The demand for the G-Wagon has led some luxury car rental services in major cities to offer the SUV for weddings and high-end events. But renting one won’t be cheap, daily rates can exceed Rs150,000, depending on the model and the provider.
A word of caution for G-Wagon buyers
If you’re planning to buy a Mercedes G-Wagon, be sure to do your due diligence. Always check the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), a 17-character code unique to each vehicle. This step helps verify the car’s authenticity, origin and registration history, critical for such high-value imports.
The Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon price in Pakistan might seem outrageous, but for those who can afford it, it’s not just a car, it’s a lifestyle choice. Whether it’s the G63 or the G580 EQ, the G-Class continues to dominate the high-end SUV market, one powerful silhouette at a time.
