Mercedes unveils new luxury limousine EV segment called ‘Vision V’


SHANGHAI, April 22 (Reuters): German carmaker Mercedes-Benz (MBGn.DE) unveiled on Tuesday a new all-electric luxury limousine segment it called “Vision V” which it said marked the expansion of the top end of its vans portfolio.

CEO Ola Källenius told an event in Shanghai that models under Vision V would range from VLE to VLS and that they would also be produced in China.

The Vision V show car is Mercedes-Benz Vans’ vision of seamlessly combining generous space with maximum exclusivity. Traditionally crafted materials blend with hyper-modern, tech-savvy design elements that are as stylish as they are unexpected, the company website said.

Starting in 2026, the modular, flexible, and scalable Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA) will pave the way for a new era of vans. The future model line-up will range from entry-level family vehicles and exclusive VIP shuttles to spacious and luxurious limousines, each catering to different customer needs.
