ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s SUV segment is set to face tougher competition as Sazgar Engineering Works Limited opens pre-bookings for its first Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), the Haval H6 Hi4 1.5L AT AWD Turbo.
The launch has created a buzz in the local auto market. With the Haval H6 already enjoying popularity among SUV buyers, the company hopes the PHEV version will appeal to a growing number of consumers interested in electric and hybrid cars.
The Haval H6 competes in the somewhat compact SUV segment against rivals like MG HS, Changan Oshan X7, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Chery Tiggo. As the market slowly shifts towards eco-friendlier vehicles, especially among buyers open to newer technologies, the success of the H6 PHEV will hinge on how well it delivers in performance and value terms.
New Haval H6 ex-factory prices
Despite its advanced features, the new H6 PHEV comes with a hefty price tag in Pakistan. It is priced at Rs12.895 million (ex-factory), with a booking amount of Rs2.4 million. This places it firmly in the premium category of the local SUV market.
Sazgar continues to offer other Haval H6 variants. The 1.5T petrol model is priced at Rs9.1 million, while the 2.0T version costs Rs10.45 million. The hybrid option, Haval H6 HEV, is still available at Rs11.75 million. With the addition of the PHEV, buyers now have a broader choice of powertrains.
The new PHEV boasts strong performance. It delivers 360 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque, covers zero to 100 kilometres per hour in just 4.8 seconds, and offers an electric-only range of up to 90 kilometres. It features All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and smart connectivity, including a built-in SIM and remote functions through a mobile app.
Used Haval H6 market
For those who find the PHEV out of budget, the used car market offers some options. A 2025 Haval H6 HEV with less than 10,000 km mileage is listed between Rs1.22 crore and Rs1.32 crore.
Older models are more affordable. A 2024 Haval H6 1.5T can be found for around Rs9.1 million, while the 2023 version sells for about Rs8.5 million. The lowest current listing is a 2022 Haval H6 2.0T AWD at Rs8.1 million. Prices vary depending on mileage, condition, and model year.
A wide selection of Haval H6 models from 2021 to 2025 is available both in local showrooms and on online platforms. With interest in electric and hybrid vehicles rising in Pakistan, the coming months will reveal whether the H6 PHEV can win over buyers looking for a mix of technology and performance.
