WEB DESK: Few days ago, reports from multiple Pakistani news websites suggested an expected decrease of Rs7 per litre in the petrol price in Pakistan during the upcoming fortnightly review.

This anticipated adjustment was expected to set the petrol price at Rs274.34 per litre for the upcoming two weeks.

However, a recent report now suggests a potential minor decline in petrol prices on Friday, December 1st.

According to industry sources, there is a proposal to increase the price of petrol by 20 paisa per litre from December 1, while the price of diesel per litre is expected to decrease by Rs6.

Moreover, City42 reports a proposed reduction of Rs4 per litre in the price of light-speed diesel. The global crude oil price has seen a 2.60 per cent increase, with Brent crude reaching $82.71.

Insiders indicate that the final announcement regarding changes in petroleum product prices will be made following approval from caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar.

Currently, the petrol price in Pakistan stands at Rs281.34 per litre for all cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Faisalabad.

The entire nation is already showing curiosity about the news of petrol price adjustment, as there is just one day left until the announcement of the new petrol price in Pakistan.

However, it’s essential to note that these reports currently appear speculative, as the official petrol prices in Pakistan are scheduled to be announced late at night tomorrow (Thursday) and implemented on Friday, December 1st.
