ISLAMABAD: Banks and financial institutions throughout Pakistan are set to undergo a three-day closure, it was announced on Friday.

This decision arises from a combination of the usual weekly holidays and the special occasion. Typically, Friday signifies the close of the business week for most banks, leading into the weekend.

However, this week Saturday and Sunday will function as the standard weekly holidays, followed by Monday, August 14, which will be a national holiday commemorating Independence Day.

Throughout this period, a limited number of bank branches will operate on Saturday to address urgent banking requirements. Yet, it is vital to acknowledge that the majority of bank branches will remain shut on Saturday.

Normal banking operations are anticipated to resume on Tuesday, August 15.
