ISLAMABAD: Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has once again denied supplying aircraft fuel to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The refusal impacted two domestic PIA flights scheduled from Islamabad to Karachi.
Insiders revealed to ARY News that one flight experienced a significant delay due to the suspension of fuel supply by PSO, owing to outstanding dues.
Following this delay, the CEO of PIA engaged in discussions with the Managing Director of PSO to resolve the matter.
A spokesperson from PIA confirmed that the flight would proceed to Karachi once refuelled, emphasising that the airline had paid a total of Rs480 million to PSO in outstanding fuel payments.
It was further disclosed that PSO’s decision to halt fuel supply was specifically targeted at flights carrying prominent individuals, including government officials, senior officers, and business figures.

The financial tussle between the two entities continues, with PIA owing a substantial Rs1 billion in dues to PSO.
This incident follows a previous episode where PSO suspended fuel supply to PIA at Lahore airport, causing disruptions for passengers on flights PK-747 from Lahore to Madina and PK-305 from Lahore to Karachi.
