KARACHI: Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) has announced that the Razgir-1 well, located in the TAL Block, has commenced production as of October 12, 2025.
The well has been brought onstream at the Tolanj Production Facility following regulatory approvals, according to a notification submitted by the POL to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday.

The company said in the notification that production from Razgir-1 is being gradually ramped up and is expected to reach a flow rate of 25.1 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) of gas and 333 barrels per day of condensate, based on earlier commingled production results shared by the operator, MOL Pakistan.
The development follows earlier updates issued by POL on July 29, August 6, and August 19, 2024, in which the company shared testing results from the Lumshiwal, Kawagarh, and Lockhart formations at the Razgir-1 well.
POL holds a 25 per cent pre-commerciality working interest in the TAL Block. The TAL Block is considered one of the most significant hydrocarbon-producing blocks in the country, and the successful commencement of Razgir-1 is expected to contribute meaningfully to the country’s energy supplies.
PAKISTAN LIFTS BAN ON NEW GAS CONNECTIONS
Last month, the federal cabinet had lifted the ban on new gas connections and approved the imposition of agricultural and environmental emergencies across the country.
Federal Energy Minister Ali Pervez Malik and Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the prime minister and cabinet have agreed to resume issuing new gas connections to ease the difficulties faced by citizens.

Malik said that new Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) connections would now be provided to the people. “LPG is the most expensive fuel and people face difficulties in refilling cylinders. RLNG, although costly, will still be 30 to 35 per cent cheaper than imported LPG,” he explained.
