Work on Ring Road Rawalpindi expedited as CM stresses timely completion

RAWALPINDI: The Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, conducted a visit to Rawalpindi on Friday to inspect the progress of the Rawalpindi Ring Road construction.

During his visit, he specifically examined the sites of Khalsa Khurd and Adiala Interchange, overseeing the ongoing work on the project.

This marked the CM’s third visit in the past 25 days to assess the development.

Expressing his concerns about the pace of work, he directed the relevant authorities to expedite the project.

Mohsin Naqvi provided clear instructions to the Commissioner of Rawalpindi Division and FWO officials, emphasising the need for concerted efforts to ensure the timely completion of the project.

Stressing the urgency of the matter, the Chief Minister insisted, “The project should be completed as soon as possible.”

He highlighted the significance of the completed ring road, stating that it would greatly benefit the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

In addition to the ground inspection, the Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of the entire 38-kilometre route, closely observing the ongoing construction activities.

Colonel Ayaz from FWO briefed Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, providing details about the 38.3 km long, six-lane Rawalpindi Ring Road.

Notably, construction had commenced at the Banth and Chak Beli Interchanges.

Following the Chief Minister’s directives, NESPAK supplied the necessary drawings for the ring road project. The construction work is in full swing, with heavy machinery on-site.

Updates on the progress included the initiation of construction on the subways, drainage channels, and various road sections.

Key officials, including the Commissioner of Rawalpindi Division, Regional Police Officer, City Police Officer, Deputy Commissioner, and FWO representatives, were present during the inspection.
