Stock market opens on hopes of growth

KARACHI: Last week, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) reached a new historic milestone on Thursday, when it was seen trading at 68,362.35 points around 9:30 AM.

Stock market closes 660 points above opening level

By the end of the trading day the index had gained ever further, closing at 68,416.78 points with 660.75 points gains collected through the day.

Today, the index opens at Thursday’s closing, with hopes of recovering further banking on central bank’s lenient monetary policy and upcoming uptick in business owing to the end of Ramazan and return to full working hours.

UN forecasts modest economic growth amid challenges in Pakistan

During the outgoing week, the upward movement of the index was attributed to positive economic indicators by the analysts. With the United Nations Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) 2024 predicting further recovery in economy, the investor sentiment is also likely to go up even more.
