Stock market opens under 75,000 after Tuesday’s bloodbath

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced another tumultuous day yesterday (Tuesday), with the benchmark KSE-100 index plunging by 908.6 points, or 1.2 per cent, to close at 74,666.66 points.
Throughout the trading session, the index exhibited a range of 1,077.02 points, recording the day’s highest at 75,669.76 points and the lowest at 74,592.74 points. By the day end, 79 out of the 100 companies on the index ending the day in red.
PSX closes another day in red, shedding over 900 points
Today the index opens at yesterday’s closing of 74,666.66 points amidst positive expectations of the upcoming fiscal year’s budget as well as improving economic indicators. On the flipside, the potential exchange rate pressures expected in the upcoming few months and central bank’s conservative policies are causing selling pressures on the bourse.
