PSX doubles the morning gains; hovering around 1,200 points gains

KARACHI: Yesterday (Wednesday), the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended a seven-session losing streak, closing with 207.94 points gain at 72,797.43 points.

Today (Thursday), the benchmark KSE-100 index further added to those gains, when it was seen hovering around 73,434.97 points – 637.54 points gain – less than an hour after opening.

Soon after, the index jumped even further to trade around 74,092.21 points, showing 1,294 points gains, all before 10 AM.

PSX climbs 0.29 per cent after seven-day losing streak

Analysts have been of the view that the stock market was under pressure owing to the budget uncertainties. Now that the budget has been announced by the federal government, the index can be expected to return to positive investor sentiments.
