Interbank closing: Pakistani rupee gains 11.7 paisa against dollar

WEB DESK: In today’s interbank session, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) demonstrated resilience, marking an appreciation of 11.78 paisa against the US dollar (USD).
The local currency concluded the day’s trade at PKR 283.78 per USD, exhibiting a slight gain from the previous closing rate of PKR 283.9 per USD.

Throughout the trading day, the PKR experienced fluctuations, reaching an intraday high (bid) of 283.79 and a low (ask) of 283.9.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the buying rate for the dollar at 283.5 and the selling rate at 285.5.
Against major currencies, the PKR witnessed a loss of 45.5 paisa against the Euro, settling at 305.82 in contrast to the previous value of 305.36.
The British Pound became pricier by 84.55 paisa, closing at 356.68 compared to 355.84 from the preceding day.
The Swiss franc registered gains of 1.3 rupees, concluding at 323.91, a rise from the previous session’s 322.61.
Conversely, against the Japanese yen, the PKR experienced a decline of 1.24 paisa, closing at 1.9511 versus 1.9387 a day ago.
The Chinese Yuan, on the other hand, gained 1.44 paisa, closing at 39.54 against 39.53 from the previous session.
In the case of other international currencies, the Saudi Riyal closed at 75.66, exhibiting a slight loss of 3.14 paisa from its value of 75.69 a day ago.
Similarly, the UAE. Dirham experienced a decrease in value of 3.53 paisa, transitioning from 77.27 to 77.31.
