Intraday trading: Pakistani rupee slightly up against greenback

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) held steady against the US dollar (USD) on Wednesday, with a slight uptick of 0.01 per cent in early trading in the inter-bank market.
By morning, the currency stood at Rs277.63 against the dollar, marking a minor gain of 4 paisa.
So far in this financial year, the rupee has appreciated by 67 paisa, or 0.24 per cent against the greenback, while the currency has strengthened by Rs4.19, or 1.51 per cent, during the current calendar year.
On Tuesday, the rupee closed at Rs277.67, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Euro to PKR: The rupee lost 72 paisas, closing at Rs305.2 compared to Rs304.48.
Saudi Riyal to PKR: Gained 2.5 paisas, ending at Rs73.94, up from Rs73.92.
British Pound to PKR: The rupee gained 40 paisas, closing at Rs363.48 from the previous Rs363.89.
Swiss Franc to PKR: Increased by Rs1.43, closing at Rs325.12, up from Rs323.69.
UAE Dirham to PKR: Slightly dropped by 1 paisa, closing at 75.59, compared to 75.6.
Japanese Yen to PKR: The rupee dipped by 0.8 paisas, closing at Rs1.8807 versus Rs1.8727.
Chinese Yuan to PKR: Dropped by 17 paisas, closing at Rs39.38, down from Rs39.56.
Overall, the rupee remained relatively stable, with only small fluctuations against these currencies on Tuesday.
