Bilawal Bhutto vows legal action amid election fraud allegations

WEB DESK: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced on Thursday his intentions to pursue legal action against people accusing him of fraud in the recent general election held on February 8.

Bilawal addressed claims suggesting that his victory in the NA-194 constituency in Larkana was obtained through fraudulent means. He said that such allegations were false and will not be taken lightly.

Referring to official documentation, Bhutto said that Form-47 confirms he received a significant number of votes, totalling 135,112. With a lead of over 100,000 votes against his opponent in NA-194, Bhutto claimed his victory as legitimate and reflective of the electorate’s support.

The PPP chairman expressed frustration at what he perceives as attempts to undermine his victory. Bilawal condemned those who refuse to “accept defeat and resort to dishonest tactics”.

He claimed that any allegations of election rigging and irregularities need to be taken seriously given its implications for democracy and electoral integrity.

Bilawal affirmed his party’s “commitment to democracy”, and acknowledged the sacrifices made by its leadership and workers in the pursuit of democratic values.
