Is Callum Turner the next James Bond?

Callum Turner has emerged as the new frontrunner in the race to become the next James Bond, following a sudden surge of support from bookmakers and renewed industry speculation. The British actor, who is currently in a relationship with pop star Dua Lipa, has seen growing public attention in recent weeks.

UK betting company Coral has reportedly slashed Turner’s odds to 7-4, with spokesperson John Hill saying the firm had been “knocked over with support” for him over the past 24 hours.

His rise has pushed previously favoured names such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, James Norton, Martin Compston, Henry Cavill, Anthony Boyle, Harris Dickinson and Jack Lowden further down the list, although all remain in contention. Regé-Jean Page has also resurfaced as a possibility after keeping a lower profile in recent months.

Recent reports suggest director Denis Villeneuve has narrowed his criteria for the next 007 to three requirements: male, British and relatively unknown. Turner fits that profile closely, positioning him as a strong contender as the franchise looks towards a new era under Amazon MGM Studios’ control.

Former Bond star Pierce Brosnan has ruled himself out of returning, saying the role now “belongs to another man”, effectively clearing the path for a fresh face to step into the iconic part.

Despite the growing momentum around Turner, no official casting announcement has been made by the Bond production team and the speculation remains just that.

For now, the tuxedo is still unclaimed.
