WEB DESK: The notoriously private Joe Alwyn has finally opened up about his breakup with Taylor Swift, offering a rare glimpse into their split more than a year after going separate ways on Saturday.
In a candid interview, the English actor discussed the complexities of ending their six-and-a-half-year relationship. Alwyn expressed frustration over how deeply personal issues can quickly turn into public spectacle.

Ahead of the release of his upcoming film “Kinds of Kindness,” Alwyn finally addressed what the bored, overly curious public has eagerly awaited for a year now—365 days and 512,640 minutes, Joe, not that we were counting or anything.
Joe Alwyn tearfully — we kid! — delved into his steadfast commitment to maintaining privacy. He clarified that their relationship was never something he aimed to exploit, firmly stating, “There was no reason to turn it into a commodity then, and that hasn’t changed.”
However, it’s clear that his ex doesn’t hold herself to that standard. Taylor Swift, the long-legged girl-next-door turned billionaire singer, included several tracks in her latest albums that many interpreted as mocking and—gasp—bad-mouthing our upstanding British lad.
In Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department,” tracks like “So Long, London” and “The Black Dog” contain lyrics that have sparked speculation among our bored public about their thematic connection to the Alwyn-Swift breakup.
While Alwyn acknowledged the public interest in the album, he remained coy about whether he had actually listened to it.
Meanwhile, reflecting on his role in “Kinds of Kindness,” Alwyn praised director Yorgos Lanthimos for fostering a positive atmosphere on set, despite the film’s dark subject matter.
Kinds of Kindness is a dark comedy anthology helmed by Yorgos Lanthimos. It made its debut at the prestigious 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 17. However, the wider public will get to see it on June 21, and we can’t wait for its release!
Originally titled “And” (thankfully renamed!), the film comprises three loosely connected stories that delve into surreal themes. “The Death of RMF” sees a man breaking free from a powerful figure, “RMF is Flying” explores identity paranoia, and “RMF Eats a Sandwich” revolves around a cult’s quest for resurrection.
The star-studded cast includes Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Mamoudou Athie, Hunter Schafer, and the intriguing Joe Alwyn.
Production for Kinds of Kindness kicked off with Yorgos Lanthimos and Efthymis Filippou co-writing the screenplay. Filming took place in New Orleans, United States from October till December 2022, with each segment shot consecutively over three weeks.

The project enjoys backing from Element Pictures and Film4, with distribution handled by Searchlight Pictures. It premiered at Cannes to rave reviews, with Jesse Plemons clinching the “Best Actor” award.
Get ready to buckle up and grab your popcorn (fresh, please!) as Kinds of Kindness promises dark humour and distinctive storytelling from Lanthimos.
