Kim Kardashian reveals her daring plan for the Paris robbery trial

Kim Kardashian has revealed she considered wearing her most extravagant jewellery while testifying at the trial of the men accused of robbing her in Paris in 2016.

In a preview of the December 4 episode of The Kardashians, the 45-year-old said she briefly wanted to appear in court “decked out in diamonds” to taunt those responsible for the armed robbery. She later followed through with the decision, arriving at the Paris courthouse wearing multiple diamond pieces.

Speaking to People, jewellery expert Laura Taylor said Kardashian was fully aware the moment would be seen around the world and wanted to remain in control of how she appeared during the hearing.

The robbery took place on October 6, 2016, while Kardashian was staying at the No Address Hotel during Paris Fashion Week. Five men, reportedly dressed as police officers, broke into her room, tied her hands and feet and placed her in a bathtub.

In a police statement cited by Le Journal du Dimanche, Kardashian recalled being grabbed in the hallway while wearing a bathrobe before being restrained with plastic cables and tape.

The men escaped with millions of dollars’ worth of jewellery, including diamond Cartier bracelets, a gold and diamond Jacob necklace, Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings, a gold Rolex and other items.

On May 13, Kardashian arrived at the Palais de Justice wearing a black blazer and matching long skirt, paired with statement diamonds. She wore a Samer Halimeh New York necklace in 18K white gold, along with a Briony Raymond Sloan Pavé Diamond ear cuff and jewellery by Repossi.

After multiple delays, the trial concluded with eight of the 10 defendants found guilty.
