Ray J has been arrested after allegedly pulling a gun during a heated livestreamed argument with his ex-wife, Princess Love.

The 44-year-old singer, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr., was booked on November 27 on suspicion of making a criminal threat, according to reports. Bail was set at $50,000 and he was later released the same day.

Footage of the livestream, which circulated on social media, appears to show a tense confrontation between Ray J and Love, who was later seen holding one of their children. During the exchange, Love accused her former husband of pointing a gun at her. He denied doing so.

At one point, Love said she had contacted the police, prompting further threatening remarks from Ray J. Additional video shared online appeared to show the artist holding a firearm while making aggressive statements.

TMZ reported that the rapper began the livestream by saying he was having “the worst Thanksgiving in the world”, before the situation escalated on camera. Love also accused him of being abusive during the argument.

The former couple share two children, daughter Melody Love, 7, and son Epik Ray, 5. They were married in 2016, and Love filed for divorce for the fourth time in February 2024.

Ray J previously had a high-profile relationship with Kim Kardashian in the mid-2000s, before later going on to marry Love.

The Los Angeles Police Department has not publicly commented on the incident. Representatives for both Ray J and Princess Love have also not responded to requests for comment.
