Sarah Hyland delivered one of the most talked-about performances at the latest Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, leaving viewers stunned by her vocal talent.
The Modern Family star appeared alongside Broadway performers Jonathan Groff and Sadie Dickerson in a segment from the musical Just in Time. Hyland first joined Dickerson for a bold rendition of “Mack the Knife” before returning to the stage with Groff for the finale of “Splish Splash”, revealing a vocal range many fans did not realise she possessed.
Social media quickly filled with reactions, with viewers expressing surprise and admiration for her performance and praising her powerful vocals.
Now starring as Connie Francis in Just in Time, Hyland stepped onto the parade float in a shimmering gold dress, channelling old Hollywood glamour. Dickerson wore a vintage-inspired magenta cocktail dress, while Groff opted for a tailored blue suit.
Although the moment surprised some fans, Hyland is no newcomer to musical theatre. She made her Broadway debut at a young age in Grey Gardens and has since returned to the stage in a number of productions, building a steady presence in the theatre world.
Speaking previously about portraying Francis, Hyland described the experience as surreal and said she felt deeply inspired by the singer’s resilience and legacy.
Just in Time has generated awards buzz and is expected to tour in the future, while casting updates for later dates have yet to be officially confirmed.
