Will Gi-hun survive Squid Game’s final season?

Squid Games Season 3

WEB DESK: As Squid Games final show hits all screens on Netflix, the streaming giant had unleashed the first six minutes of the nail-biting show to announce that the brutal games are back with a vengeance. The chilling preview, released earlier, shows protagonist Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) being delivered back to the deadly competition in one of the show’s signature pink coffins — alive but far from safe.

Gi-hun’s terrifying return

Last seen leading a failed rebellion in Season 2, Gi-hun is shockingly returned to the dormitory by the Pink Guards. His fellow players are stunned to see him breathing, but Lee Jung-jae warns his character faces even deadlier trials ahead. “When the coffin is opened, Gi-hun is reborn,” the actor told Tudum. “He must play the game again—and make impossible choices.”

Squid Game season 3: What the latest trailer reveals

Front man’s cruel mind games

The masked mastermind (Lee Byung-hun) isn’t done tormenting Gi-hun. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk reveals sparing his life was no mercy—it was psychological warfare. “Front Man wants Gi-hun to lose faith in humanity… and himself,” Hwang said. Lee Byung-hun added: “He’s determined to break Gi-hun’s spirit and make him think like a true champion—ruthless and detached.”

Final Season, Higher Stakes

Season 3 promises the deadliest games yet, with Gi-hun racing to end the competition forever. Meanwhile, detective Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun) makes a cryptic appearance in the clip, hinting at a possible outside rescue mission.

The final season premieres June 27(today) — will Gi-hun survive with his humanity intact, or will the Front Man finally claim his soul? And what will happen to Cho Hyun-ju known as 120?
