ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan sent a special message to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the Hum Investigation Team (HIT) has learned.

According to sources available with the Hum Investigation Team (HIT), Chief Minister Gandapur conveyed a special message from the founder of PTI to PM Shehbaz, urging him to refrain from targeting PTI party workers “for revenge”.

Gandapur also requested the prime minister’s intervention to secure the release of PTI prisoners after the May 9 incident. Gandapur told PM Shehbaz that the political prisoners should be released and to halt reprisals against them.

However, there was no mention of the personal imprisonment or cases involving the PTI founder and his wife during the meeting.

The chief minister also voiced concerns about electricity production in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Gandapur advocated for an increase in the province’s quota to address the rising energy shortages.

In response, the prime minister assured Gandapur of his unwavering support for the province, while also promising to address the issues raised.

According to reports, earlier Gandapur expressed his satisfaction after the meeting with the prime minister. Speaking to media personnel, the CM stated that during the meeting, issues plaguing his province such as law and order were discussed.

Gandapur stated that cooperation between the federal and provincial governments was crucial to tackle pressing issues effectively. He claimed to have had a “constructive dialogue” with the prime minister and appreciated the PM’s “commitment to providing full support and fulfilling promises”.

As per reportsm the CM believed that the “federal government wanted to move with good intentions and was committed to play[ing] its positive role”.
