Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi seek suspension of sentences in Toshakhana‑2 case

Bushra Bibi, the wife of former prime minister Imran Khan, underwent eye surgery after complaining of impaired vision in her right eye, according to the superintendent of Adiala Jail.

The prison official said the jail administration took immediate notice of her complaint and arranged a medical examination by eye specialists. Following evaluation, doctors diagnosed her with retinal detachment in the right eye, a serious condition requiring prompt treatment.

Based on the diagnosis, medical experts recommended surgery. Bushra Bibi was subsequently shifted to a private hospital in Rawalpindi on the evening of April 16 for the procedure.

Prior to the operation, all necessary medical tests and assessments were conducted. The patient gave her consent for the surgery, the jail superintendent confirmed.

The procedure was carried out by Professor Dr Nadeem Qureshi along with his medical team. Officials said the surgery was successfully completed, and Bushra Bibi remained under observation at the hospital for one night.

After being discharged in satisfactory condition, she was moved back to Adiala Jail.

The superintendent added that post-operative care and follow-up examinations will be conducted in line with the doctors’ recommendations to ensure her recovery.
