PESHAWAR: Weeks after explicit videos of TikTok personalities Imsha Rehman, Minahil Malik, and television host Mathira sparked controversy, transgender activist and TikTok star Gul Chahat has become the latest victim of a privacy breach, with an explicit video of hers leaked online.
The video, currently circulating widely on social media in Pakistan, has ignited public outrage over privacy violations and cyber harassment.
In the leaked footage, Chahat is reportedly seen engaging in intimate activity with a partner.
The incident has drawn widespread condemnation, with many fans and social media users denouncing the invasion of privacy and demanding accountability for those responsible for the leak.
Gul Chahat, who commands a significant following on TikTok, is known for using her platform to advocate for transgender rights. With a following of over 6.1 million and 182.6 million likes on TikTok, Gul Chahat is a bulging digital figure in Pakistan.
The breach has raised fresh concerns about the safety and protection of personal data in the digital age.
The controversy surrounding follows similar incidents involving TikTok influencers Imsha Rehman and Minahil Malik, and Mathira, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to address the situation, and accused her detractors of fabricating and disseminating false material under her name.
Earlier, Imsha Rehman deactivated her social media accounts after her alleged videos went viral, prompting public outrage over the unchecked circulation of such material.
Minahil Malik, another popular TikToker, also faced public scrutiny when a video purportedly depicting her in a compromising situation spread online.
Denying the video’s authenticity, Malik called it a fabricated attempt to defame her. She has since lodged a formal complaint with Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
As public figures in Pakistan grapple with the challenges of digital visibility, the latest incidents highlight the need for a broader societal shift.
The debates swirling around these cases underscore questions about ethical boundaries, the role of social media platforms, and the consequences of unchecked privacy violations in the digital era.
