Arid Agriculture University closed till April 26, students told to vacate hostels

RAWALPINDI: Arid Agriculture University (PMAS-AAUR) on Saturday announced the closure of its main campus and affiliated institutes in Rawalpindi till April 26 amid security arrangements.

According to an official notification, the decision was taken by the Vice Chancellor in consultation with deans and directors.

The notification said that academic activities will continue through online classes during the closure period as per the prescribed timetable.

The university has also directed all students residing in hostels to vacate immediately, following instructions from the local administration.

Meanwhile, all university employees, including officers, teachers and staff, have been instructed to work from home during this period. However, staff associated with essential services will remain on duty as required.

The directive has raised concerns among students, particularly those residing in hostels, regarding immediate relocation and availability of alternative arrangements.
