MUMBAI: Popular Indian singer Arijit Singh has announced his retirement from playback singing, surprising fans across the globe.

Arijit Singh shared an emotional message on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the love and support he has received over the years.

In his post, Arijit wrote: “Hello, everyone, Happy New Year. I am grateful for all the love I have received from my fans over the years. I am happy to announce that I will no longer take on any new work as a playback singer. I am ending it here. It has been an incredible journey.”

Arijit Singh is one of the most acclaimed singers in India, having won 2 National Film Awards and been honoured with the Padma Shri in 2025.
