At least 18 militants killed as rival khawarij groups clash in C Kurram over extortion dispute

CENTRAL KURRAM: At least 18 militants were killed during a deadly clash between two rival khawarij groups in Central Kurram over alleged extortion disputes, sources said on Tuesday.

According to details, intense firing erupted late last night in the Manato area between the Kazim group and the Mumtaz Imti group.

Sources said 18 militants belonging to the Mumtaz Imti group were killed in the exchange of fire, while three others went missing. Reports also indicated that one militant from the Kazim group was killed and another was reported missing.

Locals said graves were being prepared in the Manato area for the slain militants.

Sources added that armed clashes between different militant factions have occurred multiple times in the past, highlighting internal rivalries and conflicts over personal interests and extortion networks.
